Job Role
The EO Supervisor provides effective supervision of the team alongside the team
manager. EO Supervisors allocate work, collate, and analyse performance statistics,
undertake people management and team development on a daily basis. The role can
include the following: 
 
Resource planning to help meet performance targets, considering quality and
productivity. Escalating issues with team managers as they emerge, helping to
identify and implement effective solutions. 
Effective performance management, supporting both team and individuals to
achieve their potential. Conduct 1-2-1 meetings, along with performance
meetings, addressing issues as they arise in line with the HR policies. Offer
mentoring, coaching, and support with setting objectives and developing training
plans. 
Actively engages in the recruitment process.
Risk awareness, including Health and Safety and Information Awareness. Ensuring
risks are logged, relevant managers made aware and appropriate action taken.
Communication and engagement, support to help deliver key messages. Take a
lead in meetings, encouraging the sharing of ideas in an open, honest
environment. 
Being a supervisor within the LAA is an interesting and varied role, where you can
make a real difference. 
The role can require regular interaction with Solicitors, legal aid applicants and
colleagues across the LAA and MoJ. As well as liaising with other government
departments such as DWP and HMCTS.
