Group Head, Resourcing Operational Delivery - Grade 6
Recruitment is the organisations key priority. These are senior leadership roles within MoJ Resourcing, Selection & Onboarding taking business critical responsibility for the successful delivery of operational recruitment into HM Prison and Probation Services.
Working as a member of the senior leadership team and reporting to the Divisional Director, Resourcing, Selection & Onboarding, the Group Head of Resourcing Operational Delivery will take the strategic lead of the established and dedicated business recruitment delivery team.
The postholder will be responsible for a large multidisciplinary delivery team and will have responsibility for recruitment success against key strategic business objectives. The accountable lead and visible representative of the delivery team, you will report against recruitment outcomes to senior key business stakeholders, Ministers, trades unions and other officials with personal credibility and confidence, as well as providing clear and succinct written communications to support those discussions.
You will be adept at providing both oral and written briefings and be competent in responding to the machinery of government such as FOIs, PQs and public correspondence.
This a demanding role and will require close collaboration across People Groups leadership team and the requisite skills to lead, manage and inspire a large, multi-disciplinary, national team working with agility to meet the flexing and rapid recruitment demands of the operational business.
Key responsibilities
Understand the operational business requirements and ensure delivery of strategic workforce recruitment plans are met.
Lead, manage and inspire the recruitment delivery team in the provision of successful recruitment outcomes.
Provide senior stakeholders with robust management information and data outputs.
Work constructively with MOJ colleagues and third-party suppliers to meet recruitment delivery targets ensuring value against key metrics.
Seek to make continuous improvement across all aspects of recruitment delivery through people and process.
Use data and review MI to inform decision taking and making.
Understand and meet the challenge of operational delivery both from within the organisation and against external market factors.
Be familiar with and the need to adhere to compliance requirements set out by the Civil Service Commissioners;
Have experience of drafting and presenting papers and submissions in a suitable and succinct format.
Influence and build trust in recruitment capability through the delivery team offering support, motivation and creating an inclusive environment where everyone can perform to the best of their ability.

Skills and Experience
Ability to demonstrate effective leadership in a pressurised environment

Excellent communication and networking skills with the ability to persuade and influence others, establishing collaborative and trusted relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.

Ability to meet delivery challenges in a complex, multifaceted government department or commercial organisation.

Knowledge of HR including recognition and full understanding of recruitment delivery, legislation and related employment law.
Desirable Experience
A fully qualified member of the CIPD, or willingness to gain this accreditation as part of your professional development in this role
