Welcome message from the Permanent Secretary, Antonia Romeo
We are delighted to welcome you to the MoJ. Working for the MoJ is a powerful and positive life experience where the differences we bring are strengths and our potential is matched by opportunity. A place where we feel we belong because we are valued, cared for and treated with respect by those around us. We are thrilled that you have joined us.
The MoJ, supported by 33 agencies and public bodies, is a major government department at the heart of the justice system. Justice and the rule of law are an essential part of our democracy, our economy and our way of life. At the MoJ we all share a strong sense of collective purpose. Our vision is to deliver a world-class justice system that works for everyone in our society. Justice matters and we are proud to make a difference for the public we serve. Across the country there are over 90,000 of us working together to make a positive difference to the millions of people who come into contact with us every year.
Your induction journey
We want you to feel part of the MoJ family as soon as possible; to understand and work to our shared values and help us to achieve our vision: to deliver a world-class justice system that works for everyone in our society.
We want you to feel valued for who you are and for the unique skills, knowledge and experience that you bring. We want you to enjoy your career with the MoJ and to have the opportunity to learn and grow to be the best that you can be. Your induction is an important first step to achieving this. YourInduction Guideis a template that you and your line manager can use to ensure your induction covers everything it needs to. Your line manager should have a personalised copy ready for you.
Your induction will be provided at three different levels: MoJ Corporate induction. This includes a number of short online sessions that take you through all you need to know with a chance to ask questions. Speak to your line manager for more information on how to sign up once you join. The MoJ Corporate InformationInduction Guidecontains everything you need to know at the corporate MoJ level.
Local induction. This will take place either at business area level and/or team level. This will be tailored to your needs and those of your business area/team. Your line manager will be able to advise.
Civil Service induction. MoJ is, of course, part of the much wider Civil Service. As part of your induction, you will complete an online Civil Service Induction course to support you in your new role and ensure you understand what is expected of you as a civil servant.
